Armed Forces Modernization
Lt. Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo is a dedicated advocate for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Her extensive experience in infrastructure development, particularly in conflict-affected areas, underscores her commitment to national security and peace-building efforts.
During her tenure as Chairperson of the Build Build Build Committee, under the leadership of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, the agency established "Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS) Projects” — a convergence program between DPWH and Department of National Defense (DND). The program included infrastructure such as Multipurpose Buildings, Ballistic Testing Facilities, and Firing Ranges, aimed at bolstering national security and enhancing operational capabilities.
Anna Mae's collaboration with the Armed Forces extended to the Marawi Rehabilitation projects, where she played a crucial role in rebuilding efforts following the conflict. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she partnered with the AFP to construct and operate isolation facilities and modular hospitals, providing essential healthcare services amidst the crisis.
Her commissioning as a reserve 1st lieutenant in the Philippine Army, approved by President Duterte and officiated by Army Chief Andres Centino, highlights her dedication to service. The ceremony, attended by DPWH Secretary Mark Villar and other notable officials, marked a significant milestone in her ongoing commitment to the AFP.
